Covid has changed everything, including religious services on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, the most significant days of the Jewish calendar. It’s a time when many Jewish people across Canada may not be able to hear the familiar sounds of the High Holy Day Prayers.

Well, this weekend, we will be broadcasting four pre-recorded High Holy Day service highlights right here on The New Classical FM. And this is a first for us, and for radio in Canada!

The programs are an hour and feature a cappella musical prayers, sung by world-renowned Cantor Simon Spiro, Spiritual Leader of The Song Shul and recognized internationally as a master in the Cantorial Arts. He will be accompanied by The Toronto Festival Singers, known as the finest synagogue choir in North America.

Simon Spiro joined Mark Wigmore on The Oasis.

Listen to the interview:

The Song Shul will air this Saturday and Sunday at 10am on The New Classical FM, and then, Sunday the 27th, 7:00 – 8:00 PM / Monday Sept 28th, 10:00 – 11:00 AM.
