THE EXPLORER: KAWARTHA NORDIC

Since humble beginnings in 1976, the vision has remained the same – to develop a thriving, inclusive community, inspiring a love of cross-country skiing and being active outdoors.  

The result of that wonderful vision, however – by a group of avid cross-country skiers from Peterborough, continues to evolve.

KAWARTHA NORDIC – via its expansive acreage of Canadian Shield wilderness – boasts forty-six kilometers of both classic and skate trails, as well as an additional nine kilometers for snowshoeing.    

Their high-quality trails, facilities and extensive programming,  support and develop cross-country skiers of all ages and abilities, encouraging everyone to experience the joy of winter in the Kawarthas.
