In 2017, J.C. Pennie and Marilyn Field, established Windrush Estate Winery in the emerging wine region of Hockley Hills, an hour northwest of Toronto.
The winery is named after the Windrush River Valley in the Cotswolds. It sits on 68 acres with breathtaking views with a unique chateau and a state of the art winery.
Windrush is not only producing award winning VQA wines, but also supporting the community through the arts thanks to the LEAD program and the Windrush foundation.
Marilyn Field is the co-founder of Windrush Estate Winery and founder of LEAD, which encourages students of all ages to Learn. Empathize. Act. Drive.
She started out as a teacher in tough neighborhoods in Toronto, and developed a teaching method to reach out to at-risk youth through the arts. Over the last three decades, she has empowered over 220,000 kids across Canada and internationally!
