Part of the mandate of The New Classical Music is to provide beautiful music for a crazy world. We are also proud to partner with The Humane Society of Toronto to feature pets every week seeking a forever home.
Like a lot of people, I turn to animal videos sometimes to de-stress from the world’s distressing headlines. I came across this amusing video of goats jumping off a truck and enjoying a pasture, set to, of all things, Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2. This was originally composed as a solo piano piece, which has been recorded by many great concert pianists, notably Bugs Bunny and Tom the cat of Tom & Jerry fame. Upon the initial success of the work, Liszt, with the help of fellow composer Franz Doppler, arranged the work for orchestra.
Enjoy.
