Mark Wigmore welcomed Canadian pianist Francine Kay to The Oasis.
Her career as an award-winning concert pianist and a faculty member with prestigious music schools has taken her around the world, her recordings noted for extraordinary range and poetic brilliance. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, Roy Thomson here in Toronto, The National Gallery, and the Lincoln Centre.
Her collaborations include working with the TSO, Symphony Nova Scotia, the Princeton Symphony, and New York’s West Side Chamber Orchestra. In the chamber music world, the Penderecki Quartet and Trio Arkel.
Her new album is Things Lived and Dreamt. It is a deep-dive into the brilliant Czech composers that changed the course of classical music in the 19th century.
