Community Spotlights2018-2-25By: Kelly Gale

The world through the lens of Collingwood’s 17 year old Leah Denbok is remarkable thing. Her work truly has soul. She has now turned her lens to a subject most of us ignore “Homelessness”.

Leah’s Mother was rescued from the streets of Calcutta by Saint Teresa at 3 years old. Her story inspired has Leah to make a difference and lead Leah and her father on a two year journey to the cities throughout North America photographing and interviewing the homeless.

Her new book “Nowhere To Call Home” is a collection of gritty, black and white haunting yet beautiful photographs and stories of the people she met. All the royalties from this book are going to Salvation Army – Barrie Bayside Mission Centre. For more information on Leah and her book visit Leah Denbok
