“It would surprise you to know that I’m a classical trained pianist” writes Canadian rower Michael Braithwaite on his Team Canada web page. It was a surprise that we were delighted to hear about.
And Braithwaite is in good company with eighteen fellow teammates who are also alumni’s of the Royal Conservatory’s Music programs from across the country.
Classically-trained pianists, cellists and clarinetists are among those competing at the London 2012 games in a wide range of sporting events.
Jeremiah Brown and Doug Csima are also team Canada rowers with a taste for classical. Their crew took home silver medals yesterday in the men’s eight final.
