Composer Marvin Hamlisch has died at the age of 68. Hamlisch composed the scores for dozens of films over his career including Sophie’s Choice and Ordinary People.
Hamlisch died on Monday after a brief illness said family friend, Jason Lee. No other details have been revealed.
His career spanned film, television and stage. Hamlisch received a number of awards for his work and is one of only two people to receive an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony and Pulitzer Prize (the other being composer Richard Rodgers).
