Another record month for real estate in this country.
In fact, it was the busiest October in Canadian home sales – ever – even as the average price rose just under 6%.
Typically, the housing market cools through the fall, crawls during the winter, but the Canadian Real Estate Association says more than 45,000 homes changed hands last month.
Sales were up in about 60% of local markets, led by the Hamilton-Burlington area, Montreal, B.C.’s Fraser Valley, Calgary and Edmonton.
The average price for a home sold last month as $481,994.
